Promoting the rescue and adoption of senior dogs.
"Blessed is the person who has earned the love of an old dog."
Sydney Jeanne Seward
Senior dogs are usually first on the list to be euthanized at shelters, especially if they have even the slightest medical problem. Most medical issues are not so bad once the seniors get a good diet and some tlc. The love and devotion they have to give in return is beyond value.
Please share with your friends and together we can spread the word!
Anyone who adopts a senior dog will wonder why they never did before!
"If a dog placed through rescue as a senior is given another home -- a loving home -- I believe we are able to add years to that dog's life -- years she would not have had in her original home. It is like a burst of energy for the dog -- a return to youth -- that will prolong the dog's life, imbuing her with purpose and optimism."
Steve Shlyen of New Hope Vizsla Rescue, reposted from the Senior Dogs Project.
